Obesity treatment prescribed after a doctor's consultation

We check your body mass index, weight changes, medications and underlying conditions, and if you meet the criteria, prescribe medication such as obesity treatment injections. We also give guidance on eating, activity and sleep.

How your care works

  1. 01

    Consultation and criteria check

We check your body mass index, weight changes, existing conditions and medications.

  2. 02

    Prescribing medication

If you meet the criteria and there is no reason not to prescribe, we prescribe treatments such as obesity treatment injections and explain how to use them and what to watch out for.

  3. 03

    Follow-up checks

We check your weight changes and any discomfort, and adjust the dose and your eating and activity plan.

Who we consider for injection treatment

  • Adults with a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or higher
  • Adults with a body mass index of 27 or higher who also have a weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, prediabetes or dyslipidemia

We may not prescribe it if you are pregnant or planning a pregnancy, or if you have certain conditions. Whether to prescribe is decided after your consultation.

Obesity treatment injections can cause digestive symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and constipation, and rarely other adverse reactions. We will explain them in detail before prescribing.

We do not guarantee the results of any particular medication or procedure, and effects and side effects may differ from person to person. Obesity treatment is not covered by National Health Insurance; you can see the costs in Non-covered Fees.
